Irish Life Health and OxyGeneration
OxyGeneration is an approved provider of non-emergency Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (“HBOT”) for Irish Life Health Members.
Covered Conditions
Members on qualifying plans can claim for HBOT sessions regarding the following conditions:
Arterial insufficiency — treatment to prevent amputation
Compromised skin grafts and flaps
Radiation necrosis, myoradionecrosis, osteoradionecrosis and other soft tissue radiation necrosis
Chronic refractory osteomyelitis
Thermal burns including second- and third-degree burns
Non-healing infected and ischaemic deep wounds/ulcerations unresponsive to at least 6 months of wound care
Idiopathic sudden sensorineural hearing loss (ISSHL), where HBOT begins within two weeks of onset
Post-Emergency Continuity of Care
Many of the emergency indications require 30 or more sessions of treatment.
Patients are sometimes discharged from the hospital prior to completing their course of HBOT and return for the remaining HBOT as outpatients.
OxyGeneration provides non-hospital based HBOT for clients who have been discharged from hospital but who are stable and no longer require medical supervision during HBOT but require further sessions to complete their course for:
Acute air or gas embolism
Acute carbon monoxide poisoning and smoke inhalation
Acute traumatic peripheral ischaemia, including crush injuries
Exceptional blood loss anaemia where transfusion is not possible
